    I just had my 18 year daughter tell me that she went to the surgery for a cold. The Dr she saw suggested she have a Pap smear. She let the male Dr know that she felt uncomfortable and asked for a female Dr. He then informed her that it is very important that she has her Pap smear sooner than later. My daughter agreed but was very uncomfortable about it. I don't understand the urgency of this Pap smear as she has only become sexually active and has only ever had one partner. And has always practiced safe sex. Then there is also the question as to why was her request for a female Dr was ignored. I find this very disturbing and I am thinking about whether I pursue this matter further.
